We are happy to announce the 74th IIRB Congress, that will take place from the 1st to 3rd July 2014 at the Hotel Westin Bellevue Dresden in Germany.
Programme
‘Networking - science in action': In the opening session on the 1st June, the German sugar beet research sector will be presented. The Göttingen Institute of Sugar Beet Research (IfZ) is part of a close cooperation of institutes, funding bodies, ministries, industry, practice and other related groups. The resulting network facilitates the implementation of scientific solutions to improve sugar beet cultivation.
In the afternoon of the 1st June, the congress participants will visit the Julius Kühn-Institute, the Institute for Breeding Research on Horticultural and Fruit Crops at Pillnitz, as well as Pillnitz Castle and gardens.
The technical sessions and poster sessions will be organised on the 2nd and 3rd July. A farm visit in the Dresden area in the afternoon of the 2nd July will highlight the differing socio-economic farm situations from the former German Democratic Republic before 1990 to the technical management of a competitive farm today.
The congress will end in the early afternoon of the 3rd July after invited closing presentations.
