IIRB Seminar 2025 - Carbon farming options in sugar beet cultivation

Where: Online (via Zoom)

What: At the IIRB Plant & Soil Study Group meeting in autumn 2024, carbon farming and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were discussed. The discussion highlighted the need for a more in-depth exploration of the subject within the IIRB. Consequently, the Plant & Soil Study Group is organising a seminar for 2025, titled 'Carbon Farming Options in Sugar Beet Cultivation'.

The programme consists of three sessions exploring the role of sugar beet in sustainable agriculture.

Session 3 (Friday 12/12/25): GHG Emissions in Sugar Beet Cultivation with talks from

• Klaus Dittert (University of Göttingen, D)
• Bernard Longdoz (University of Liège, B)
